UNDERWATER

I am incredibly inspired by these beautiful, baroque looking photographs by Christy Lee Rodgers. Taken submerged in water at night time, the flowing fabrics and the water bubbles that show movement are mesmerizing, and I love the chiaroscuro of the bright lights and darkness that is underwater.

KIP & CO

How great is the above Confetti Storm range by the new Melbourne company Kip & Co? The bright neon colours and geometric patterns are right up my alley, and I love the mix of velvet and cotton fabrics. The smartest thing has to be that because you can mix and match everything, you can throw together a beautiful and bright bed for adults, or use the pillows to create a cute and colourful kids bed very easily. Bravo Kip & Co!

DESKTOP DESIGN LOVE

As a designer I can get quite particular about things that other people would not give two hoots about. One of these things I am overly fussy about is my desktop wallpaper, so I was very happy to stumble across wallpaper by Rebekka Seale from the Dear Friend blog - these tick all the boxes for my background - they are beautiful, not too busy, and informative. You can see all her desktop wallpapers here for free download. POPPY CREATIVE - DESIGN UPDATE

Just this week I have helped a very clever and hard working friend launch her first website at karinaduncan.com.au. Karina is a food stylist, and designing for her meant some solid hours of looking at photos like the delicious looking blueberry pie above, my mouth was watering the whole time! THIS WEEKEND....

This weekend I...

1. Was walking home after work pondering what to have for dinner, when the Taco Truck appeared like a (delicious) sign from above

2. Had breakfast with a wonderful friend in the city before heading to a short course on 'The art of Visual Merchandising' with the clever Emma of House & Universe, which was run as part of Craft Victoria's hatch market

3. Celebrated the end of winter by spending as much time in the sunshine as possible

4. Collected lots of flowers from the neighbourhood on Sunday afternoon - nothing like fresh (free) flowers to make everything look that little bit better

I hope you all had a great weekend and managed to pack in as many fun activities as humanly possible!

SCULPTURE FARM

Gibbs Farm is a farm in the north of Auckland on Kaipara Harbour, and has the most amazing site-specific sculpture gallery commissioned by owners Allan and Jenny Gibbs. My particular favourites are those like the above that really work with the flow of the land on that enormous scale. Gibbs Farm has just gone on my wish list of places I want to travel, that's for sure!

These dreamy photo collages put together by Matt Wisniewski are so delicate and beautiful, I could definitely handle living with a couple of these in my home!

ART + COLOUR

Loving the mustard yellow in these paintings from Australian artists Kirra Jamison and Stephen Ormandy, particularly paired with that hot pink and fluro red, so great!
